Need এর ব্যবহার:
Need Principal ও Auxiliary উভয় verb -রূপে ব্যবহৃত হয় । Need যখন Auxiliary verb রূপে ব্যবহৃত হয় তখন তাকে Semi Modal বলে । Need যখন modal হিসেবে ব্যবহৃত হয় তখন তা Negative অর্থ প্রকাশ করে ।
যেমন- He need not do it.
Principal verb হিসেবে Need requere/want(চাওয়া)অর্থে ব্যবহৃত হয় ।Present tense এর ক্ষেত্রে third person singular number এ need এর সাথে ‘s’ যুক্ত হয় । এক্ষেত্রে infinitive ‘to’ উহ্য খাকেনা
যেমন- He needs to know the exact amount
Dare এর ব্যবহার
সাহস/ধৃষ্টতা দেখানো বুঝতে প্রশ্নবোধক বাক্যে Dare বসে

”Used to” এর ব্যবহার
”Used to” ব্যবহার হয় অতীতের কোন নিয়মিতও অভ্যাস বুঝাতে যেটি এখন আর ঘটে না। যেমন:-
I (used to) go to the beach everyday.
আমি (প্রতিদিন) সৈকতে যেতাম।
Jerry (used to) study English.
জেরি (নিয়মিত) ইংরেজী পড়ত।
I (used to) start work at 9 o’clock everyday.
আমি (প্রতিদিন) নয়টায় কাজ শুরু করতাম।
Rohim (used to) eat meat, but now he is a vegetarian.
রহিম (নিয়মিত) মাংস খেত,কিন্তু এখন সে নিরামিষভোজি।
I (used to) drive to work, but now I take the bus.
আমি (নিয়মিত)গাড়ি চালিয়ে কাজে যেতাম,কিন্তু এখন আমি বাসে যাই।
I (used to) play football.
আমি (নিয়মিত) ফুটবল খেলতাম। Note: Used to ব্যবহারের পর
সবসময় verb এর present form বসে।
Would rather
কোন কাজ করা বা না করার এটিকে জোর প্রদাণ করে পরামর্শ হিসেবে প্রকাশ করার জন্যই মূলত ‘would rather + that clause’ ব্যবহার করা হয়।
যেমন, It is high time you started the work.
এ বাক্যটিকেও would rather দিয়ে বলা যায়
এভাবে- I would rather that you started the work. তার মানে- ‘would rather + Subject + Past Form’
একইভাবে-
I would rather that we reached there half an hour early.
She would rather I took a camera with me.
Mother would rather we decorated the house.
Fahim would rather that his younger brother did not go to London for study.
I would rather they did not come today.
CONFUSED হবেন না কিন্তু!
‘would rather’ এর পর সরাসরি Verb বসলে, Verb টি অবশ্যই Simple Form-এ হবে। কারণ – ‘would rather’ সহ ‘would better’, ‘had better’ ‘had rather’ হলো Semi-Modal Auxiliary Verb যেগুলোর পর সরাসরি Simple Form এর Verb বসে।
তার মানে- ‘would rather/ would better/ had rather/ had better + Simple Form’
যেমন-
I had rather go now than stay here for nothing.
You would better follow a good teacher.
She would rather not come to the party.
