Frustrating UP election

প্রথমবারের মতো দলীয় প্রতীকে ইউনিয়ন পরিষদ নির্বাচনের নামে গত মঙ্গলবার যেটি ঘটল, তা হতাশারই জন্ম দেয়।
Whatever happened, in the name of poll, using party symbol for the first time in the UP election, gave birth to a disappointment.

অথচ এই নির্বাচন নিয়ে জনমনে বাড়তি প্রত্যাশা ও আগ্রহ ছিল।
While people had a superfluous anticipation and curiosity regarding this election.

পুরো নির্বাচন প্রক্রিয়ায় নির্বাচন কমিশনের (ইসি) অদক্ষতা ও দায়িত্বহীনতাই পরিলক্ষিত হয়েছে।
Irresponsibility and inefficiency were apparent in the whole electoral procedure.

নির্বাচন ঘিরে আগে থেকে বিভিন্ন এলাকায় সহিংসতার ঘটনা ঘটলেও ইসির পক্ষ থেকে কার্যকর ব্যবস্থা নেওয়া হয়নি।
No valuable measures were taken by the EC, though there were pre-violence in many places.

ইউপি নির্বাচনকেন্দ্রিক সহিংসতায় এ পর্যন্ত ২১ জনের প্রাণহানি ছাড়াও বহু মানুষ আহত হয়েছেন।
21 persons died along with scores of were wounded so far in the UP election based violence.

প্রধান নির্বাচন কমিশনার (সিইসি) ও তাঁর সহযোগীরা নির্বাচন নিয়ে যেসব লাগামহীন বক্তব্য দিয়েছেন, তা ভোটারদের আশ্বস্ত করেনি, বরং শঙ্কা ও উদ্বেগ বাড়িয়েছে।
The unbridled speeches of chief election commissioner (CEC) and his assistants’ have not assured voters rather it has amplified apprehension and anxiety.

বহু নির্বাচনী কেন্দ্রে সাধারণ ভোটাররা শুধু তাঁদের ভোটাধিকার প্রয়োগ থেকেই বঞ্চিত হননি, সহিংসতারও শিকার হয়েছেন।
In many constituencies, people were not only deprived of their applying voting rights but also were prey to hostility.

এসব ঘটনায় প্রমাণিত হয় যে ইসির কর্তাব্যক্তিরা ইউপি নির্বাচন নিয়ে গালভরা বুলি আওড়ালেও বিশৃঙ্খলা ও সহিংসতা রোধে চরমভাবে ব্যর্থ হয়েছেন।
These events have proved that regardless of flamboyant speeches of the high officials of EC, they have entirely failed to check the disarray and aggression.

তঁাদের অদক্ষতা ও নিষ্ক্রিয়তার সুযোগে সন্ত্রাসী চক্রের হাতে গোটা নির্বাচনী ব্যবস্থাই হয়ে পড়েছে জিম্মি।

The entire election system has turned out to be captive at the hand of miscreants due to the inefficiency and inactive stance of Election commission.

অতীতকে ফিরিয়ে আনতে না পারলেও ইসি পরবর্তী নির্বাচনগুলোতে শান্তি ও শৃঙ্খলা এবং ভোটারদের নিরাপত্তা রক্ষায় সর্বাত্মক চেষ্টা নিক;

May the EC takes all out move to ensure peace and order as well as the safety to the voters, regardless of retaining the past.
দেরিতে হলেও নির্বাচন কমিশনের বোধোদয় ঘটুক, এটাই প্রত্যাশিত।
It is better than never, and it is heartily expected.
